All vehicles parked on University property are expected to have a valid permit displayed
and be parked in a designated parking space. Registering your vehicle does not exempt you
from having to display your permit. Parking on or over a line is a violation of
regulations. Leaving a note, or putting on your flashers will not keep you from receiving
a citation. Also, the absence of a "No Parking" sign in certain areas does not
mean that parking is allowed there.
-
Parking permits must correspond to the proper parking zone. Before parking in a
facility, please read the sign(s) at the entrance. Permit restrictions are listed on these
signs.
-
If a vehicle is found in violation of any of the above listed regulations and the
identity of the driver cannot be determined, the registered owner shall be held
responsible for payment of any outstanding fines.
-
All City ordinances and State statues governing the use of motor vehicles shall be
observed at all times. This especially applies to handicap parking spaces on campus.
-
UAB parking facilities are not for long term storage of vehicles. Therefore, if a
vehicle is parked at a UAB facility without being moved for at least ten days, giving the
appearance of being abandoned, it may be impounded at owners expense. This includes
vehicles which are properly permitted.
-
Meter rates and times vary by location. Decals or permits, including handicapped
permits, are subject to meter violations.
